EMPIRE magazine has recently released these new photos from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One. I love the magazine cover, especially the tagline “Friendships shatter. Evil unites.” with the photo showing the reflections of Ron, Hermione, and Voldemort in the shards of flying glass.
Notice that Ron is holding the Deluminator and Hermione has the Tales of Beedle the Bard in her lap in this scene which takes place prior to Bill and Fleur’s wedding. That’s the esteemed British actor Bill Nighy portraying Rufus Scrimgeour, who is handing Harry the Golden Snitch in the photo. I love the little details, such as the boys’ wedding outfits and all of the Burrow’s set dressing–the grammophone, the bookcase, the furniture.
This next photo is of the scene following the flight of the “Seven Potters” in which Remus Lupin is questioning Harry to make sure he is not an impostor. Notice the brand-new wedding ring on Remus’s finger. 🙂 The blood on his hands is likely from George’s severed ear. I was pleased to read the spoilers from the Chicago test screening of the film which revealed that this was a very memorable scene with great performances by David Thewlis (Lupin) and Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter). That’s Bonnie Wright as Ginny Weasley, who is observing the heated exchange between Harry and his former mentor.
These photos really have me excited about the new Harry Potter film, which will be released in the U. S. on November 19, 2010. If anyone has a link to the article that accompanies these photos, please post it. The magazine stands where I live never seem to have the latest issue of EMPIRE until a month or two after its release. It’s a British film magazine, and is often difficult to find in certain parts of the United States.
