From ronandhermionesource.tumblr.com:
Some person in IMBD(that apparently worked on the movie) PMed me this info:
“The Battle
Added scene where Nagini is thrashing around in the Entrance Hall, attacking students. Hermione and Ron try to stop her and she lunges for them, and chases them down a corridor.
Nagini attacks Neville, blurring his vision (POV shot), she wraps himself around him and Neville reaches for the sword and kills her.
The Voldemort/Harry chase – big chase between V and H, V binds H, H sets fire to V’s robes
Voldemort throws Wormtail out of a window.
Giants use Quidditch goalposts as weapons
Nigel Wespurt is killed, Neville cradles his body
Voldemort kicks dead bodies aside, Great Hall tables turned in to stetchers for injured and dead
The diadem is destroyed, Harry collpases and has a vision of Voldemort in the boathouse
Lucius, Voldemort and Snape present in Boathouse
Hermione battles Greyback(after attacking Lavender), Neville battles Snatchers(after attacking students)
Hagrid carries Harry’s body across the bridge
Final scene: Harry, with Ron and Hermione holding hands, on bridge look upon the ruins of Hogwarts, H: “It’s been a long journey”, R: “Can’t say it’s been boring though, mate”
The Prince’s Tale
Snape visits Potter’s house, approaches baby Harry, and cries.
Snape and Lily scenes, including laying down together near a river watching the sky, playing by the Great Lake at the Boathouse, rejecting him in a Hogwarts corridor, young Petunia, young Sirius, young James, young Lupin all present in script
Gringotts plays out largely like the book, with multiplying burning gold/ cups / etc”
Emma Watson quote:
“There’s the scene where we go off together to get the basilisk fang in Part 2, to destroy the horcrux, and we go off on this little adventure together. It’s kind of like a comedy act because it’s the first time you see Hermione and Ron in tune. We’re usually so offbeat, we always miss each other and we kind of clash, and in this one scene, we’re this real team and we’re both so into it. There’s a couple of very funny comedy moments, and I enjoyed working on it. Rupert is a great comedic actor, so we had a really good time bringing the humor out of everything we could.”
Snape in tears, Neville cradling Nigel, Hermione battling Greyback, Ron’s line to Harry on the bridge….Really, honestly, can’t wait!! Don’t think I’ve ever anticipated a film more, and all this just makes me want it to be July more!
Huge Ron/Hermione fan so the revelation of the Chamber of Secrets Scene being filmed last year had me gleeful. And every pic and post about it just makes me happier.
Though I have to say I am surprised from Emma’s quote that there will be so much humour in it. It looked (from the solitary clip we’ve had admittedly) like it would be quite a tense scene! Especially as the horcrux does try to kill them in such a dramatic fashion. Still I can see how Ron’s attempts at speaking Parseltongue from memory could be a lot of fun.
Not complaining however it goes. Having the two of them alone, working as a team and getting a chance to shine works for me however it’s played!
I would have to agree. I can’t wait to see Ron and Hermione finally have a moment to really shine. I want to get excited but I am sooo worried that they are going to cut out these wonderful scenes. David Yates really doesn’t know how to show romance that well. He keeps scenes that really aren’t too romantic and deletes scenes that would have someone melt. I just hope he finally does these two justice.
SPOILERS from The Leaky Cauldron:
From the description, the footage shown sounds like it was a collection of various key scenes from the second part of the film, opening with Voldemort whispering, “Harry… bring him to me.” Ollivander tells the trio, “He’s after you Mr. Potter. You really don’t stand a chance” to which Harry responds, “I suppose I’ll have to kill him before he finds me, then.”
Slightly more lighthearted scenes are also described:
There was footage of a battle with the white dragon, and Hermione cries, “We can’t just stand here. Who’s got an idea?”
“Don’t ask us,” Ron squeaks. “You’re the brilliant one!”
“I’ve got something, but it’s mad,” she says, and before she can explain it she dives through a stone archway onto the back of the beast.
The blog mentions a scene set in the hills outside of Hogwarts:
“We need to get into Hogwarts tonight,” Harry says, but Hermione thinks he’s being rash.
“We can’t do that. We have to plan. We’ve got to figure it out,” she says.
But Ron decides they should just charge in, fearless. “Hermione, when have any of our plans ever actually worked? We plan, we get there, all hell breaks loose!”
The presentation also showed scenes from right at the end of the film:
The camera scans over a hallway full of bodies, not lying peacefully, but scattered and broken with blood smearing the floor. Voldemort’s voice says: “You have allowed your friends to die for you, rather than face me yourself. Join me in The Forbidden Forest and confront your fate.”
Additionally, the audience was shown scenes of Harry and the Resurrection Stone:
In the forest, Harry finds the images of those Voldemort meant, the people who have given their lives for him: His mother, father, godfather Sirius Black…
“Why are you here, all of you?” he demands.
“We never left,” his mother whispers.
“You’ll stay with me?” Harry’s voice is high and fearful, while the ghosts are soothing and calm.
“Always,” his mother says.
“Until the end,” adds his father, which is as ominous as it is reassuring.
The scene from the teaser trailer with Harry and Voldemort was also included, followed by the scene from the Kings’ Cross chapter, a “white void” where Dumbledore says to him, “You brave, brave man…You are the true master of death, Harry.”
Lastly:
In the next scene, he is facing Alan Rickman’s Severus Snape in the Great Hall of Hogwarts, challenging him as thousands of students look on. “How dare you stand where he stood!” Potter screams. “Tell them how it happened that night. How you looked him in the eye, a man who trusted you, and KILLED him!” Anyone who knows the story can read layers of reaction on Snape’s face.
More battle unfolds, as the two armies clash over the battleground of the school. “Let’s finish this the way we started,” Potter tells Voldemort, grabbing him as they both tumble over a cliff as Potter’s voice echoes: “… together… “
But the truly heartbreaking line comes just before the end, as Potter says, “I never wanted any of you to die for me.”

TEST SCREENING SPOILERS from Dylan Spartz on Twitter:
“I loved it. The best retelling of the books I’ve seen yet. An epic ending to a beautiful story. Too may greenscreen shots and incomplete fx.”
The KISS: “And Ron and Hermione’s was good. They stopped looked around and mauled each other.”
“The kiss was great. They just kind of mauled each other.”
“OH GOD the DA scene was great. All those warm feelings flooded in, like when I think about the gryffindor common room fireplace.”
“What about mcgonagall? She was so awesome. I love her. There’s an added scene where she looks like a total bamf.”
“A lot of you are asking about Mrs. Weasley’s famous line… YES. It’s in the movie and it’s awesome!’
“Battle of hogwarts was INSANE. So epic. Helm’s deep kind of sh*t.”
“Aberforth was awesome. I liked him more in the movie than the books.”
I found this at the R/E Forums, but I don’t know the source:

On Tumblr:
“The kiss of Ron / Hermione …. they were with everything … it was not Harry, but the moment they decide to reveal their relationship to all a little later was very cute and appropriate.”
Does anyone know the source of this quote or the ones I found at R/E Forums?
This is so exciting!!!!!!! 🙂
MUGGLENET’S REVIEW:
The film was exactly two hours in length. The plot line followed the book plot line better than the other films had. While you may think that two hours is short (especially compared to the other films), we actually found it to be a very satisfying length.
Fans will be pleased with the adaptation when it comes to the crucial scenes, but at least one important scene left us feeling underwhelmed.
The large majority of this film is the Battle of Hogwarts. As interviews had revealed in the past, the battle itself is close to a hour and keeps an impressive pace. Intermixed with the fighting is, like in the book, Harry’s hunt for the remaining Horcruxes.
It was interesting to watch Voldemort and Harry’s reaction to each Horcrux being destroyed. In the book we see Voldemort’s rage as he realizes what is going on. This is brought across nicely in the film.
Unlike in the book, we get to go to the Chamber of Secrets with Ron and Hermione.
You’ll find that the filmmakers attempted to insert humor into the plot at some points. While the book doesn’t strive for those laughs, the film does. It’s understandable that the filmmakers did this as it’s what makes a good movie. There are a couple of times where the laughs – in at least one of our opinions – was not needed. This part of the story is obviously very serious and the large amount of action makes up for the need for a laugh or two.
Two surprisingly prominent characters in this film were Neville and Professor McGonagall. They both have shining moments that will get the theaters cheering.
Harry’s decision to go to Voldemort is easily one of the best moments of the film. You’re pulled into his realization and execution and it will make you emotional.
The Epilogue is bittersweet, but several people who saw the film say they wanted to see more.
Snape as Headmaster is great. Alan Rickman puts on his Snape character more than ever when it comes to the way he speaks.
An interview with Ciaran Hinds suggested that Aberforth Dumbledore’s role in this movie was a “blink and you’ll miss it appearance”. This is not the case. You see Aberforth for a good bit of time, but there are adjustments from what’s in the book.
Spoilers from Test Screening of DH posted on Tumblr:
“It was in Portuguese on Oclumencia so sorry if there are any mistakes
I thought the death scene of Harry very well done, not to mention the appearance of their parents.Sirius and Lupin was really well done and exciting.
Hagrid carries him … but they added more characters’ reaction when he entered the castle.
Kings Cross was simple, nothing too fantastic … a typical scene of conversation between Harry and Dumbledore that happens in every movie.
Gringotts was fantastic, not too big … not all the special effects were made, but by what they had, it will be spectacular.
Snape’s death was very creepy .. I was really shocked, but the scene of her memories was so exciting … I cried twice, well done to the level of emotion, and includes everything the moment they need to set the tone. They show all the memories of Snape … but … not entire scenes of 10 seconds during the minute of the tale.
The phrase “My daughter does not, you bitch!” By Julie Walter was flawless. Everyone was excited.Special Effects Bellatrix’s death were not ready yet, but it was a great scene!
Neville had his moment of truth! I loved all his moments on stage, but the death of Nagini was very solid. I think they cut a lot of these scenes in the finished film.
The kiss of Ron / Hermione …. it was not with Harry, but the moment they decide to reveal their relationship to all a little later was very cute and appropriate.
The epilogue … … A vigorous and a very good final end of the series.
They do not show Fred dying… just show Fred’s family over his body to comfort him … but something was missing… I hope that the soundtrack could add that emotion was missing, who knows.
None of the Malfoy die.”
Part 2 Screening Post #2 (Lots of details) from ronandhermione source:
What is the opening sequence?
Last scene of Part 1, with Voldemort stealing the Elder Wand. Next we see WB sign. Then we see Snape looking out the Hogwarts tower. Then the title. After we see Harry outside of Dobby’s grave.
——
Do we see the flashback of the Potter’s deaths?
Yes. During Snape’s memory
——
How is Tonks’ pregnancy and subsequent death handled?
We hear about their son during the scene before Harry is about to “die.” He mentions Teddy to the resurrected Lupin then. We don’t see how Tonks dies.
——
How is Lupin’s death handled?
We don’t see him die. Just the body laying next to Tonks. They’re hands stretched toward each other.
——
Do we see Lupin and Tonks fight?
No. We see them about to fight.
——
Do Lupin and Tonks have many lines?
Lupin has more lines. Don’t remember if Tonks says anything. But you see her!
——
How is Fred’s death handled?
It’s so sad! First we see him get disarmed by a death eater. Later we see the Weasley’s crying over his body. Ron sobs over him. I couldn’t stop crying.
——
How is Percy’s “redemption” handled?
Hardly. We just see him at the end with the Weasleys.
——
Does Mrs. Weasley say “NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU B***H”?
YES! EPIC! it was perfect!
——
Do Hermione, Ginny, and Luna duel Bellatrix?
I only saw Ginny duel Bellatrix, until Mrs. Weasley interfered.
Do Snape and McGonagall duel?
Yes!
——
Where does Snape die?
In a boat house on Hogwarts grounds.
——
What happens to Wormtail?
We don’t see him in this one. (r/hrsource edit: WTF!?!!?!?!)
——
What happens to Lavender Brown (does Greyback attack her)?
Yes, we see her get attacked by Greyback.
——
Where/when does Harry and Ginny’s kiss (or kisses) take place?
Only one kiss. When Ginny sees Harry in the Room of Requirement, when he first gets to Hogwarts. It was just peck. Not a real exciting kiss.

Posted at R/E Forums:
“The film begins with Harry at Dobby’s grave, after a quick recap. After the epilogue, the film ends with the camera giving a focus on the trio.”
R/E Forums:
“How is the destruction of the Cup in the Chamber of Secrets? Pretty cool. Hermione stabs it with the fang and a flood of water washes over Ron and Hermione and then they KISS!
How is Hermione and Ron’s kiss? Not as epic as I hoped. But it still made me cheer. Not like how it was in the book.”
FROM THE LEAKY CAULDRON:
•The movie was two hours. The screening was an open secret on Twitter so a lot of fans attended (most seemed to be aware the “unannounced” screening was of Deathly Hallows, as there were leaked photos of the line outside the theater.
•This was a work in progress working cut of the film. Less than half of the effects were finished. A good portion of the film was in green screen or a form of CGI renders.
•The running time was just about two hours long. This did not include end credits.
•Unfinished shots of the film were marked with placeholders or title cards, such as “Sweeping wide shot of castle.”
•The film opens with now Headmaster Snape looking out from a tower at the regimented Hogwarts students, as they march in Third Reich-ean lockstep across the courtyard of his Dementor-guarded castle.
•Harry is then seen at Shell Cottage at Dobby’s grave, full tombstone text is visible.
•The film moves quickly from Shell Cottage to Gringotts Bank, where Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix) manners herself off of Hermione, who has taken polyjuice potion. There is a funny moment where Bellatrix (who is really Hermione) wobbles as she walks in Bellatrix’s high heels around the bank.
•The scene inside Bellatrix’s vault was done as it was in the book, with the multiplying of objects overtaking the room. The dragon guarding the vaults was old and rickety, with signs of abuse and neglect apparent.
•The dragon bursts through the dome of the bank and flies over London.
•The connection between Harry and Voldemort is used quite a lot in this film, especially in the hunt for the horcruxes. First glimpse of the Grey Lady (who is portrayed by Boardwalk Empire’s Kelly Macdonald) in this sequence.
•When Voldemort finds out of the bank heist, he goes on an murdering spree of all the Death Eaters and Goblins– including Griphook, save for the Malfoys. The sword of Gryffindor then vanishes from Griphook’s dead hand.
•The trio apparates to Hogsmeade and saved by Aberforth, who ends up looking a lot like Gambon’s Dumbledore. We see Ariana in the portrait above the fire place, and the other half of the Sirus’ mirror set on the wall next to her.
•Harry confronts Snape in the Great Hall, while the headmaster is addressing the Hogwarts students. McGonagall and Snape duel (one of several fantastic moments in the film for Dame Maggie Smith), and Snape escapes via a cloud of black smoke through the window… without the bat-shaped hole, sadly.
LEAKY CAULDRON:
• The beginning of the battle, with the Professors conjuring the protective forcefield around the castle is as epic and stirring as we could have imagined, even with CGI elements missing.
•There is a lengthy scene between Harry and the Grey Lady (very nicely played by Kelly Macdonald), as he tries to convince the Ravenclaw ghost to reveal the location of the lost diadem.
•We follow Ron and Hermione into the Chamber of Secrets as they use the basilisk fang to destroy the Hufflepuff cup, after which they finally kiss. The theater cheered quite loudly.
That last one isn’t surprising. I cheered quite loudly when I read that part in the book. 😉
TLC:
SNAPE’S DEATH
It’s pretty gruesome. You see Voldemort slit his throat with magic. Then from the other side of the window you hear Nagini attacking him and see blood splattering. I didn’t see a buring Hogwarts because it was all still green screen.
Poor Snape. 😦
TLC:
Blaise Zabini takes Vincent Crabbe’s place in the Room of Requirement sequence, and Goyle is the one who perishes via the Fiendfyre.
•The trio witness Snape’s death in a boathouse at the edge of the Hogwarts lake. Snape is killed by Nagini after falling to the ground after Voldemort slashes his throat with a curse from his wand. We don’t see Nagini bite Snape, but see the scene from the Trio’s point of view outside the boathouse.
•The trio return to the Great Hall.
TLC:
•The trio return to the Great Hall, where they see the bodies of Fred, Lupin, and Tonks. (Their deaths are not shown in the film.) Ron breaks down and sobs over Fred’s body.
• The Prince’s Tale: Harry views Snape’s memories in Dumbledore’s office, and this sequence was nothing short of spectacular. We see Snape and Lily meeting as children, their sorting at Hogwarts, Snape and Dumbledore’s fateful conversations about Harry, and–most hearbreakingly—Snape discovering Lily and James’ bodies at Godric’s Hollow. Alan gives his best performance yet in the series, and possibly the best in the film.
•The final showdown between Harry and Voldemort is much extended from the book, as Voldemort chases Harry throughout several different parts of the Hogwarts castle. At one moment, Harry throws them both off a high tower, and their duel reaches its climax in the castle courtyard. The death of Nagini is held until the last possible moment, and Voldemort disintegrates into nothingness as Harry’s wand overtakes his own.
TLC:
•The epilogue is included, but only Harry looks noticeably aged while Ron and Hermione look hardly a day older than the rest of the film. But it ends the series on a satisfying, emotional note, ultimately closing on a shot of the smiling, content Trio as he watches the train depart.
I am going to cry so much during this movie!
Dylan Spartz:
“Snape’s memories sequence was handled pretty well. it’s a lot of information to process but they did a good job.”
R/E Forums:
“What happens in the clip from the first trailer when Hermione and Ron are backing away from something?
They’re backing away from Nagini.”
I don’t think I have ever been more excited about a movie coming out. I can not wait to see Neville show strength and the Snape – Lilly flash back is the part I look forward to seeing the most. I am glad they did not take it out.
R/E Forums:
“How was the Ron/Hermione kiss?
Kinda out of no where.. They just go for it lol.”
R/E Forums:
“Any cute ron/hermione moments besides the kiss? no need to be descriptive, just a yes/no and how many. thank you!!
yes! they have like a couple hand holding/hugging scenes!
What is the dialogue between Ron and Hermione before their kiss?
no dialogue. they just get hit with the water and then kiss.”
Symone, I’m really looking forward to the Snape/Lily flashback too. I hope they give that sequence enough screentime.
Posted at R/E Forums:
“My favorite was the Prince’s Tale. Everyone was really engaged with the film. We all cheered when Ron & Hermione kissed, Bellatrix , Voldemort died. Everyone loved it.”
Ron/Hermione: “Harry sees them holding hands and Ron and Hermione look shyly at each other and Harry. Nothing is said.”
“Ron and Hermione kiss in the chamber of secrets after Hermione destroys the cup. Water rushes in and they smooch. They hold hands for the rest of the movie. Hemrione gives Ron sappy looks throughout.”
From ronandhermionesource:
Can you please describe how Ron and Hermione reveal their relationship has gone to another level? Is it to just Harry or everyone? Is there anything cute said by anyone?
– – Harry sees them holding hands and Ron and Hermione look shyly at each other and Harry. Nothing is said.
——————
How does Hermione change out of Bellatrix’s robes between Grintgotts and the final battle? just something I noticed in the trailer.
– – They showed Ron and Harry changing clothes but not Hermione. She puts a towel over herself.
——————
What is the dialogue between Ron and Hermione before their kiss?
– – no dialogue. they just get hit with the water and then kiss.
——————-
any cute ron/hermione moments besides the kiss? no need to be descriptive, just a yes/no and how many. 🙂 thank you!!
– – yes! they have like a couple hand holding/hugging scenes!
——————-
How was the ‘tsunami’ scene in chamber of secrets when hermione destroy the horcrux?
– – It soaked Hermione and Ron and then they kissed.
Dylan Spartz discussing DH2 on Twitter:
“I loved it! Emma btw, was great. Especially the kiss scene in the chamber of secrets with Ron.”
🙂
This is from COS
http://www.cosforums.com/showpost.php?p=5719316&postcount=260
We had a long, big chat with Rach on skype and as promised, I’m going to post all the information we got from it! Information courtesy of Rachel, Meg and Erin. Enjoy!
Note: They said the special effects were very unfinished and there was a lot of green screens and Nintendo-like graphics for the effects. There were captions and title cards telling the audience what happened at certain points. Overall, VERY unfinished.
– No Draco in Epilogue. Make-up was decent but barely noticeable. Only Abus Severus was named as far as they recalled but you can see the kid’s initials on their school trunks.. Harry’s lines to him were lifted directly from the book.
– The Malfoys run away like cowards in the end (during the last part of the battle)
– Resurrection Stone scene and Harry’s walk to his death was very emotional. Harry asks Sirius if it hurts to die, as in the book.
– Fred’s death was very quick and we don’t see it happen. It’s possible it’s because the effects weren’t complete. We see him laid out.
– WB logo looked finished. Opening scene is of Voldemort getting the Elder Wand (repeat of ending of DH1) then Snape at Hogwarts, and the TITLE, then Dobby’s grave with Harry standing there, and Shell Cottage. We see Bill and Fleur. Bill explains how the house has been used as a safe-house for the Order. We see Luna here as well. Then Harry talks with Griphook and then Ollivander.
– Ron and Hermione kiss in the chamber of secrets after Hermione destroys the cup. Water rushes in and they smooch. They hold hands for the rest of the movie. Hemrione gives Ron sappy looks throughout.
– Neville was really Bad-*** and says the line, “I’ve always wanted to use that spell!”
– PRINCE’S TALE: Al done in quick flashes, not too long but not too short either. We see two scenes of Snape and Lily as children. The playground scene is in there but it’s in a field, not a playground. petunia is there too. Then there’s a scene under the tree where they talk. No mention of Snape’s parents fighting. We see Lily and Snape sorted at Hogwarts, scenes of teen Snape and Lily at Hogwarts and James being a bad boy in Hogwarts as Snape and Lily watch on but no Snape’s worst memory and no “mudblood” and no break-up. Snape and Lily aren’t really portrayed as close-friends. Snape admires her from afar but never gets that close to her. We see James and Lily dancing. We do hear a bit of Trelawny making the prophecy but it’s very jumbled. We cut to Snape pleading with Dumbledore to save Lily. Gambon is intense in this scene as Dumbledore was in the book. They show a shot of Wormtail as Dumbledore says the Potters put their trust in the wrong person just like Snape did. We see Snape at Godric’s Hollow after the big event and he cradles Lily’s corpse as baby Harry cries. Then we see Snape crying in Dumbledore’s office weeping about Lily being dead and the scene is inter-cut with a scene where we see Lily cuddling baby Harry and telling him he is loved and to be brave. We have scenes from PS/SS of Snape watching Harry get sortied as well as other scenes lifted right from SS. He tells Dumbledore how much like his father he is. The ring and Dumbledore’s cursed hand is explained and why Snape has to kill Dumbledore is cleared up. A lot of emphasis on Snape not wanting anyone to know he loved Lily. They briefly discuss Harry having a piece of Tom’s soul and how he has to die. Most of the lines are lifted from the book. Snape’s patronus and “Always” is in the film. They explain the Silver Doe scene in DH1 and even show flashback to DH1 from Snape’s POV. Dumbledore and Snape quickly talk about Mundungus in regards to the mirror. Overall, huge exposition dump in this whole sequence about a variety of things.
– Aberforth does not use his goat patornus in the Hogsmeade scene but uses a huge tidal wave patornus in the battle instead of Ernie, Luna and the others. He doesn’t tell the story of Dumbledore’s back-story, only briefly mentions Ariana who’s in the portrait Neville comes out of as in the book. He does talk about his brother and how wrong it was of him to send three kids on this quest. He says many of his lines from the book about that.
– In the final duel, Harry and Voldemort fight all over the place, they tumble off a cliff and apparate in mid-air and kinda merge into one at one point. Harry flies around smoke as well, all around Hogwarts. They are alone for most of the duel and there’s very little dialog between them. Very action-oriented. Spells are all cast silently including the final ones that kill Voldemort. Harry does catch the Elder Wand as in the book. A TON of it was unfinished.
– Molly and Bellatrix fight. It starts off comical but gets really tense. It is clear Molly KILLS her. Bellatrix gets a big villain’s death. “Not my daughter you, *****” IS in the movie.
– Wormtail is barely in the film. He doesn’t get a death scene.
– We never see the Ravenclaw’s common room. The Horcrux explanation is very limited. Harry starts to go to the Ravenclw common room but Luna stops him and tells him to talk to the ghost. Harry does speak with the ghost of the Grey Lady. She tells him to look in the room of hidden things in the ROR. Kelly Macdonald is EXCELLENT in her performance. She’s the only ghost we see in the film. No backstory about the Bloody Baron.
– The fiendfryre in the room of requirement was grand and amazing.
– Gringotts was done VERY WELL, very exciting, could make a cool ride for WWOHP.
– McGonagall is bad-*** during the battle. She makes the statues come alive and fight for Hogwarts. There are giants and spiders in the battle.
– No history of what’s been going on at Hogwarts. Just quick lines from Neville about the Carrows being horrible. We see the ROR and the DA. Luna and Percy just show up. There are hammocks in there like the book.
– Harry goes undercover in a Hogwarts school robe and holds hands with Ginny to blend in at one point. Ginny tells everyone that Snape knows Harry was in Hogsmeade.
– IT IS SNOWING IN HOGSMEADE.
– We see Snape’s death from the trio’s POV outside the boathouse. Nagini continually attacks him and it’s really graphic and violent. Snape’s memories come out of a tear. He grabs onto Harry and says, “Look at me. You have your mother’s eyes.”
– After the trio jump off the dragon, it’s like Harry is drowning but he’s seeing through Voldemort’s mind as Voldemort realizes all of his horcruxes are destroyed. We see each one being destroyed.
just wanted to know … How do you know all of this??… You seem to know alot…. Have you watched it ?
More from COS:
Epilogue stuff:
Not a whole lot of make up or aging.
And no Draco.
Albus Severus was the only kid mentioned by name.
The initials were on their trunks… or maybe just ASP’s …not sure on that but his trunk and initials were mentioned for sure.
Harry says to Al almost word for word what he says in the book.
The Prince’s Tale stuff:
It’s about 6 minutes in length by the viewers’ estimation.
The run down…
2 scenes of Lily and Snape as kids pre-Hogwarts.
First scene is in a field and includes Petunia and she calls Lily a freak. Snape throws Lily a flower with magic or something to that effect.
Second scene is Snape and Lily lying under a tree with butterflies around or some unfinished effect like it.
The do show them being sorted into two different houses, but that might be incorporated later in the sequence.
It seems to have a lot of flashbacks intertwined within it, some new flashbacks and some from the previous films.
They show James being obnoxious to Snape at Hogwarts while Lily is watching.
Then Lily and James as older teens dancing… I guess Snape must be watching them, but I don’t know for sure.
There is no version of Snape’s Worst Memory or anything like it. Snape never calls Lily a mudblood. They never break off their friendship. The people from the screening seemed to think that it might come across as if they weren’t that close while at Hogwarts and that Snape loved her from afar. I think this may be open to interpretation. I guess we’ll see what it is like in its final form.
Then Lily talking to baby Harry and saying that he is very loved. Not sure how Snape knows this or whatever… It is unclear if he was spying on them. No one seems to remember for sure.
There is a bit of Trelawny and the prophecy.
Then he asks Dumbledore to protect Lily.
Then there is a montage of Snape sort of crying to Dumbledore that they are dead while he is shown going up the steps to the house, sees James dead in the hallway, finds Lily dead, cradles her body and sobs while baby Harry is watching.
Dumbledore says the line about the Potters putting their faith in the wrong person just like he did.
They show Harry being sorted in a flashback and Snape saying he is just like his father.
Dumbledore tells Snape Harry has to die, and asks Snape if he has come to care for Harry. They explain about Voldemort’s soul piece being in Harry.
They show Snape trying to heal Dumbledore’s cursed hand.
They have DD ask Snape to kill him and intercut it with HBP.
They also have Snape say that he doesn’t want anyone to know that he loved Lily, at some point.
They have Snape cast the doe and the “always” line is probably in. I wasn’t totally clear on that last part.
They show the doe go to the forest and they flashback to the silver doe scene.
COS:
“Ron and Hermione are alone in the CoS, Hermione destroys the Horcrux, and it creates a Voldemort-shaped tsunami that washes over them. They look around for a moment and then kiss. They apparently have no dialogue.
Later on, they hold hands and look at each other adoringly, in front of Harry and other people, and nothing is said but it is understood that they are together.”

GabrielleAdelle on Ron/Hermione
“Actually, I think the camera angle was really good. full body, looking up.
They just grab each other and kiss.
not like the hbp kiss.”
From Tumblr:
•No mention or sight of the ‘mudblood’ scar on hermione.
•Harry does tell Ron/Hermione that he is the final horcrux and they accept that he has to die.
•Harry is fully clothed in the Kings Cross scene, the baby is described as disgusting too.
•More on the Kings Cross scene: “We see it at first from his POV and then we seem him walking along the platform. It’s all very white and bright the entire time.”
•No/very little focus on Draco in the epilogue (what)
•It’s said that Neville and Snape stole the show as far as acting goes.
•The music playing in the epilogue is ‘Leaving Hogwarts’ – John Williams.
•Young Snape came out “cute” and “not greasy”
•“He finds Lily in the house and holds her body, crying out” <- Snape.
•“Of course it is in your head, Harry, but why on Earth should that mean that it isn’t real?” and “Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and above all, pity those who live without love.”
Both of these quotes are included! 😀
•Aberforth condemns Harry about following Albus’ instructions. He tries to tell him to go hide and stop doing what he’s doing. Mentioning stuff about Albus’ thirst power, stuff like that. But Harry doesn’t listen, so Aberforth helps them out but showing them the tunnel.
•You see a lot of extras die in the battle.
•The best scene was apparently ‘Prince’s Tale’ and the worst was the one with Aberforth.
•It’s never directly mentioned that Hermione and Ron are officially a couple, but Harry sees them holding hands and it’s just accepted.
•Harry does tell Albus Severus that he was named after “one of the bravest men he ever knew” :’)
•Harry and Voldemort are alone for the final duel – no crowd.
• Princes Tale is around 10 minutes! 😀
•Malfoy’s flee after they know that Harry is alive.
•The cup horcrux doesnt fight back like the locket when ron/hermione destroy it.
•Voldemort doesn’t scream when Bellatrix dies.
•Apparently Harry walking to his death and using the resurrection stone is really emotional.
•Snape does say the “Always” line in the movie 😀
R/E Forums:

Ron opens the door with Parselnouth he remembered from when Harry sleep talks.
•is there any dialogue AFTER! the Ron/Hermione kiss? what does ron say? how do they react?

no mention of the torture and I didn’t see the scar.
That scene where we see Ron and Hermione holding hands sitting on the stairs was cut?
no. that’s in the movie.
ALSO does hermione comfort ron at all, on stairs? How do hermione and ron saygoodbye let harry go to his death?
which weasleys cry besides ron over fred?
Is their an aftermath scene in the GreatHall?
yeah, she’s comforting him on the stairs. they were both worried that Harry had already left to go to Voldemort.
Hermione hugs Harry, and Ron says bye, i think. No hug, which I thought was weird.
Ron, Mr. Weasley, Mrs. Weasley, George, Ginny…
yeah
How heartbreaking was the reveal of Fred’s death?
It was sad. Ron’s reaction made it even more emotional.
TLC’s Detailed Review:
This afternoon, I was lucky enough to be among 400 other movie fans to attend a test screening of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” in Chicago, Illinois. Rumors had been circuiting around the internet about this screening, but confirmation that it was Harry Potter didn’t come until just before the film started. Since this was a working cut of the film, many effects and scenes were not finished. At least 50% of the special effects were still in the CGI rendering stage, and green screens were visible throughout the film. Also, a number of specific shots were title cards on the screen as placeholders for the full, finished shot or effect.
The film itself focuses on the battle to defeat Voldemort. Three quarters of the film takes place at Hogwarts during the final battle for the school. Hogwarts is torn down around us with the violence brought by the thousands of Death Eaters, army of spiders, giants, and dementors. Even without all of the special effects complete, you can already tell how grand and cinematic the final product will feel. The second half of the “Deathly Hallows” film is an action-packed adventure where good and evil come together for the final showdown. The way Harry moves through the film, discovering what he needs to know in order to ultimately destroy Lord Voldemort is paced perfectly, even if the journey he takes is not what was outlined in the book.
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint continue their high caliber of performances as Harry, Ron, and Hermione from the first part of the film, but Alan Rickman (Snape) and Maggie Smith (McGonagall) really do steal the show. Snape gets to become a fully emotional character in this film, as evidenced via the phenomenal Prince’s Tale memory sequence, slipped into the ranging and bloody battle for Hogwarts. Snape is a heartbroken shell of a man when Lily is killed, and we see every level of those emotions in Rickman’s performance. The Prince’s Tale scene is one of the best moments in the entire series, and stays with you long after you leave the theater.
The look of the film suits its mood and the kind of action which takes place; the battles are raw and dark, the lighter or tender moments are warm, and the glow of the Epilogue seems radiant after an hour of nearly non-stop battles, death, and destruction.
Following a short montage of Voldemort taking the Elder Wand from Dumbledore’s grave, the film opens with Hogwarts Headmaster Snape observing as students are marched, in lock step, across a courtyard in the castle. We are then taken to Shell Cottage where Harry, following the burial of Dobby, speaks with Griphook and Mr. Ollivander. Warwick Davis does extremely well as Griphook and gets to truly flesh out the conniving goblin part of this role. The film moves quickly onto the Gringotts heist scene, where we see excellent work by Helena Bonham Carter who picks up on Emma Watson’s nervous sighs and mannerisms as she pretends to be Hermione pretending to be Bellatrix.
For the first time in the films, there is a special effect used to fade Harry and Griphook in and out of the scene under the invisibility cloak. Harry and Griphook become translucent in several shots in order to indicate their invisibility and location in relation to the others. The cart ride down to the Lestrange vault offers more loops and spins than the most intense roller-coaster out there. At the bottom of a particularly deep cavern we see the old, abused, and neglected dragon guard, as–clangers in hand–the group makes their way into the vault. Inside, the multiplying artifacts quickly make the massive room cramped, but allow Harry to ride the growing tide of objects to retrieve the Hufflepuff cup. While all the special effects were not 100% finished, this looks to be one of the coolest sequences in the film.
After escaping from the vault, Hermione jumps on to the spiny back of the dragon–Harry and Ron close behind–and rides the creature out through the glass-domed top of the bank over London. We get the first of many mind/memory connections between Harry and Voldemort in a riveting intercutting of Voldemort killing a large number of his Death Eaters with Harry, Ron, and Hermione swimming their way to shore after dropping off the back of the dragon. It seems as if the Malfoys are the only ones standing after the Dark Lord learns of Harry’s trip to Gringotts and takes his anger out on his followers… even Griphook doesn’t make it out alive.
In this mind/memory connection, we see a quick glimpse of the Grey Lady and Hogwarts in Voldemort’s mind, informing Harry on his next move. Setting off alarms as they apparate into Hogsmeade, the Trio are beckoned inside by Aberforth. Ciaran Hinds gives an excellent performance as Aberforth Dumbledore, and even manages to resemble and emulate Michael Gambon’s Albus Dumbledore. Hinds’ scene at the Hog’s Head is chilling as he delivers a monologue to Harry, trying to convince him of Albus’ uncaring actions towards Harry. All the while, the portrait of Ariana sits over Harry’s head, observing the scene before being sent off to retrieve Neville and reveal the passageway into Hogwarts.
A bloody and battle-worn Neville leads them into the castle where the final battle really starts. In another fantastic scene which follows, Harry reveals himself to the assembled school and calls Snape out on his murder of Dumbledore. Before Harry and Snape can duel, McGonagall pushes Harry to the side and engages Snape herself. They whip spells back and forth before Snape turns himself into the inky Death Eater smoke and smashes his way though the Great Hall window… without leaving a bat-shaped hole, sadly.
While Harry searches for the Grey Lady, with some sage advice from a surprisingly forceful Luna, McGonagall and the other teachers secure the school. Smith does a top job here, commanding the Knights of Hogwarts to defend the school… a spell she almost giddily admits to being one “[she] always wanted to do…” A forcefield of protection domes the school, which, we later find out, has the power to disintegrate Death Eaters on contact. Neville has an early BA moment where, alone, he faces off against an army of Death Eaters unable to get past the protective charm. “You and what army!?” he cries. It is here we can see the rebel leader Neville has become.
For the last hour of the film we are taken along a series of interconnected journeys and battles that are mixed in with flashbacks and mind connections between Harry and Voldemort. It is truly impressive to see how so many different characters and sequences are tied together. Nothing in the last hour felt either sloppy or pieced together. It flowed so well it was as if you were panning around the castle seeing elements of everything happening at once. There are flashes of Percy Weasley, Trelawney, Sprout, and other familiar faces fighting alongside the Order. The entire last act truly feels as epic and thrilling as you’d want it to be. A particular highlight is when Aberforth casts a mega patronus over the castle and grounds to repel a swarm of Dementors that are about to envelop the castle.
In a change from the book, a number of shots were added to the memory scene showing Snape at Godric’s Hollow, discovering the dead bodies of Lily and James. Snape falls to the floor upon seeing Lily’s body, and then cradles her in his arms, sobbing, as the year-old Harry Potter looks on from his crib. Rickman’s scenes with Michael Gambon (Dumbledore) also hit the mark, showing the backstory of Dumbledore’s search for the horcruxes and Snape’s love for Lily. Young Snape, Lily, and Petunia have been cast perfectly as well… even young James Potter seems to have been captured the way Snape’s character remembers him from the book.
In Snape’s death, Rickman gives a chilling performance along with Ralph Fiennes, who goes on a Death Eater killing spree as he learns the last bits of his soul are being systematically destroyed. A man who will stop at nothing to live forever, Voldemort slashes at the air in front of Snape, which results in a thin trail of blood to start staining the white collar of his cloak. Nagini then bites Snape multiple times, shaking the glass window onto which Snape has collapsed. We see this from the outside of the Boat House where the Trio are crouching out of sight.
As mentioned above, the Prince’s Tale memory is the emotional high point for the entire film series. It flows beautifully among the battle going on around Harry, and allows for a quick breath and dose of reality for Harry. Lasting for about six minutes, the sequence was set to the temporary score of “Dumbledore’s Farewell” from “Half-Blood Prince” which worked beautifully in this edit, even though it is sure to be changed for theatrical release. From Young Snape meeting Lily under an old and decaying monument of a tree and their relationship before and during school to James’ bulling of Snape and his pain upon discovering their deaths, the entirety of his history is depicted in these scenes.
In the category of ‘applause and cheers moments’ falls Bellatrix’s duel with Mrs. Weasley. “Not my daughter, you bitch” is delivered exactly how one would imagine it, and their fight atop a raised platform in the Great Hall is a momentary show stopper. This is juxtaposed with the heartbreaking moments when we realize that Fred, Tonks, and Remus have all been killed.
J. K. Rowling’s source material is used nearly verbatim in the forest scenes. Harry walks into the forest, after passing off the duty to kill Nagini to Ron and Hermione, and discovers the resurrection stone in the snitch. His parents, Remus, and Sirius continue with him until he faces Voldemort. A white flash brings us to King’s Cross with a fully clothed Harry, Dumbledore, and the red, slimy, breathing thing that is a piece of Voldemort’s soul.
The film maintains the illusion that Harry is dead until he leaps from Hagrid’s arms in the Hogwarts courtyard. Narcissa is seen checking for signs of life, but none are visible at that moment. The final battle between Harry and Voldemort spans the last fifteen minutes of the film, which is intercut with Ron and Hermione’s attempts to kill Nagini. They do not deprive Neville of his moment, however, who stands up to Voldemort and gives a rallying cry to keep fighting for Harry even after it is thought Harry is dead. Neville steps in to kill the snake seconds before it is set to pounce on Hermione and Ron.
Harry and Voldemort’s final duel is as wide-ranging and epic as the rest of the film’s action. It goes so far as to have Harry grab a hold of Voldemort and send the pair careening off a tower into the depths, forcing Voldemort to fly with Harry across and through the castle. In the end it is just Voldemort and Harry facing each other. With Nagini, his last horcrux, finished, Harry is able to end the Dark Lord’s mortal life with a spell as simple as “Expelliarmus.” The wand flies from Voldemort’s grasp into Harry’s hands, and Voldemort slowly decays into dark nothingness.
In the final shot of Harry, Ron, and Hermione as seventeen year olds, they are shown standing together looking out into the expanse of the future, while the crumbling remains of Hogwarts sits behind them. Nineteen years later, Harry seems to have aged a bit more than the others, but Ron’s figure is noticeably plumper round the middle than before. The dialogue between Harry and Albus Severus was taken directly from the book and delivered beautifully.
Following the screening I was able to speak with David Heyman who commented that they may tweak some elements for the sake of clarity, such as the succession of the Elder Wand occurred in the story. These alterations, Heyman said, could happen in a flashback or memory sequence.
The working cut of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” showed the talents of the filmmakers and actors involved in the creation of this film, even without every element being 100% complete. I can only imagine how much more amazing the finished cut will be when it premieres in theaters this July.
Below is a portion of the Q&A with David Heyman and David Barron which was held at CinemaCon:
In the footage we saw today, there’s a scene of Snape and McGonagall facing off in the Great Hall, which I don’t remember happening at all in the book.
They do face off, but it’s not in the Great Hall. There are a lot of things there that are slightly different from the book, but they are true to the spirit to the book. Snape and McGonagall do face off in the book, but it’s in a corridor as Harry’s on his way to the Ravenclaw common room. It didn’t work the way we were structuring the final battle to have that, so it takes place in the Great Hall. We also wanted to make a bigger scene of Harry’s confrontation with Snape. Snape’s role in the film is minimal, and it was minimal in the second half of the book, and yet you wanted to have the emotional investment when you see his past story [the memory Harry views in the Pensieve]. We wanted to build that up in order for it to have its emotional impact.
So the Pensieve moment stays in too?
Yes, that and Dumbledore [at King’s Cross]. But what I love about these films, what I love about the books, is that all the action, adventure and magic, what means most to me is the character stuff, the slow stuff. I love having the time to tell the story. I’m really happy about breaking the book into two films, it gives us the time to really spend time with the characters and have the moments such as the flashback, Dumbledore at King’s Cross. If we had done it as one film, we would have lost the Snape flashback.
Do you keep the desks that Professor McGonagall is instructing to charge?
No, we didn’t.
Oh, I loved the desks!
I liked the desks too, but if you think about it, in a film which has grown up, that’s kind of juvenile. It’s like Peter Pettigrew strangling himself [which happened in the seventh book but was cut from the film]. It’s great in the book, but really hard on film. Those things don’t translate as well when the films are growing up.
When you went back and reshot the epilogue at the end of the film, was it mostly tweaking the makeup effects?
It was a couple of reasons. One it was the makeup, that was the first thing. The other was, to be honest, we were limited by shooting at King’s Cross. It really limited our ability to block. And in terms of performance, these little kids, some of who weren’t actors, were drowned by the noise of the trains, the announcements. That was really a problem. When we filmed it back at the studio, we brought the trains to the studio and filled the station in digitally. It’s really beautiful.
from MuggleCast:
After the Prince’s Tale Harry is walking in sort of a trance, supposedly from being so shocked at what he just saw. He then sits down on the floor and comes to realize what has to be done, that he has to die.
Snape’s line to Dumbledore about raising Harry like a pig for slaughter was in the film.
From IMDb:
“I would say it ranks as one of tops because it has the most exciting action and adventure scenes, but its not my favorite. I dont know which one is, maybe the Goblet of Fire.
“Ginny isnt in it a ton because Harry is off doing other things throughout the movie.
“I think they did Ron and Hermoine’s kiss very well because it wasnt overdramatic at all. Everyone knew it was going to happen, so they didnt make it as big of a deal. The kiss was very passionate though.”
I would be worried about the running time in the film. If it’s only 2 hours long, it seems like things may feel a bit rushed. Considering the stuff listed in the spoilers, makes me wonder how they would cram up everything in 2 hours.
Wow! Thanks! I really can’t wait you have a nice colection here (:
I really can’t wait for Prince’s Tale it sounds amazing!
How many times do Harry and Ginny kiss? Do they ever hug or hold hands?
OMG I CAN HONESTLY SAY I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE EXCITED ABOUT ANYTHING IN MY LIFE!!! I AM MORE EXCITED ABOUT THIS MOVIE THAN I HAVE EVER BEEN AT CHRISTMAS! =] but i have also never felt sadder because this is the end of something that i consider to be a big part of my life, i know that sounds crazy because it is a movie series but i have grown up watching them and i think it might just be coincedence but when i watched the first one i was only about 5 and i think that was the apropriate age for that particular movie, i am now 12 and this movie is for 12s so the movie kinda grew with me if you know what i mean =] BTW does part 2 start directly from where part one left off (harry at dobbys grave)
Does Hermione and Ron duel anybody?
This is from “Studio Ciné Live.” The journalists were there when they filmed the Battle of Hogwarts, and here’s a translation of the most important things. (This is a quote from aslan13 at the R/E Forums.)
Spoiler:
“In front of a lot of Hogwart’s Resistance fighters, Voldemort’s approaching in his long ghostly cloak, followed by a head-hanging Hagrid, Bellatrix Lestrange (more hirsute than ever) and about fifty Death Eaters in closed ranks. Hagrid is carrying Harry’s body in his arms, and Voldemort annouces with delectation that ‘Harry Potter is dead’. Everybody is under shock. Screaming ‘Liar!’, Ron collapses in Hermione’s arms, which is already in tears. Pointing to Harry’s body, Voldemort tells Hermione ‘You idiot! You’re crying for this?’, then says that this is now or never for people to join him. Nobody move, except Draco Malfoy who walks to stand beside his parents and Voldemort. Then, Neville come forward, and the Death Eaters begin to scoff at him. But Neville won’t surrender, and says ‘It doesn’t matter Harry’s dead! A lot of people died today. And they didn’t die in vain. But you will!’, before dashing towards Voldemort brandishing the sword of Gryffindor. Everything becomes chaos, and everyone’s fighting within seconds, while Harry leaps from Hagrid’s arms and runs away from the Death Eaters, casting some spells behind him to cover his flight.”
Thomas, I have not seen the film. I’m just collecting all of the spoilers that other people have posted online so far, and as you might have noticed, I’ve listed the source for each spoiler. As for your question, I think the answer must be yes, but I don’t really know for sure.
These spoilers were posted at the R/E Forums. I do not know if the original source of this information is reliable.
1. do we see a lot of Luna, Bill and Fleur in shell cottage, or the scene is very quick?
They are there and talk for a little bit but it’s not much. They each have a couple of lines. The cottage scene really focus’s more on Griphook and Ollivander.

When Harry is in the forbidden forest and opens the golden snitch and finds the resurrection stone he see’s Lupin, Lilly, James, and Sirius. He asks and apologizes to Lupin for dieing for him and not being apple to see Teddy and Lupin said he will hear stories of how his parents stood up and died for good.
3. do we see dobby’s “here lies a free elf” grave?
Yes you do. After which harry places a rock on top of the grave itself.
4. is the line “Well, I don’t know how to break this to you, but I think they might have noticed we broke into Gringotts.” in the movie? does the trio have a moment of laughter after they land back at hogwarts (after getting off the dragon)
I am not %100 if that exact line is in the movie but Ron does say something to that affect. No laughter and they don’t land back at Hogwarts. They land in a lake then they make their way to Hogsmeade where they meet Aberforth.
5. Is there any moments with the focus on Neville-Ginny and Luna, any interaction/dialogue between Ginny and Neville- or it’s mostly neville?
Neville mostly. They focus on him a lot. And all of them have their own dialogue with Harry at different parts.
6. does the duel between mcgonagall lasts a good while or it’s over very quickly?
McGonagoll and Snape? Snape doesn’t do much at all just defends her spells of fire. It’s when Harry confronts Snape in the hall and asks how it felt to kill Albus Dumbledore a man who trusted him. Snape pulls out his wand then McGonagoll steps in front of Harry.
7. How’s and How long is the scene of Luna showing/telling Harry about the Diadem?
Harry is running up the stairs to get to Ravenclaws common room and Luna stops him after a couple of failed attempts. She brings him to the lower floor of the castle and shows him where she is located. The Grey Lady speaks kindly of Luna too.
8. what exactly does Aberforth tells the trio about Dumbledore’s past?
That he held out a lot of things about the past and how Albus gave everything to Ariana except time. How he was always in search for power and the mission that he gave Harry was a suicide mission.
9. How long is the ron/Hermione kiss? is it over very quickly or a solid minute? does their scene in the chamber of secrets goes by quickly or it’s paced well?
It’s a good ten seconds. It is passionate and done well. After the Gingotts scene the whole movie is paced very well.
10. does Blaise dies too? or just Goyle?
Just Goyle. He falls off a tower of nic nacs that Draco and Blaise are climbing after his spell goes out of control.
11. Do we see fred die? from the trailers it looks like he gets cornered by a DE, disarmed and gets killed- is that how the scene plays out or differently? (like do we actually see the DE cast/say the killing curse?)
When it happens it shows DE standing over top of him and he is sitting on the ground. While this is happening Voldemort is calling out to everyone that he is pulling everyone back from the castle and just calling for Harry to come to the forbidden forest. Before they cut away from the scene DE is just looking up and Fred looks scared and is on the ground under her alive.
12. does Lavender look dead? how many characters we recognize get killed? katie bell too?
Oh yeah she looks dead. GreyBack is eating her neck. Honestly I don’t remember if I saw Katie Bell. There was a lot going on. I am pretty sure that they show her. They show Lupin and Tonks dead on the Great Hall floor almost holding hands. Brought a tear to my eye.
13. when Harry says goodbye to them- does Ron and Hermione say anything? does Ron particularly says or does anything, or he’s just standing there looking sad?
Happens after Harry goes to the pensive to see Snape’s memory. It describes how he must die. Harry says he has known for a while and then they cut to Hermione and he says I think you have known too and she really starts to cry. She hugs him and over her shoulder he looks at Ron and they nod at each other and a tear starts to come down Rons face.
14. does Dumbledore talks at all about his past in king cross, or just about the hallows/horcruxes search?
Albus talks to him for a good 5 minutes.
15. at one point Neville, sword in hand, is flung by a curse into the air and crashed in the great hall- what’s that about and is it right after any of his two speeches?
It was right after Voldemort was calling if anyone wanted to join his side because Potter was dead. Draco was reluctant to go only after his parents kept calling him. Then Neville steps out and they all the death eaters laugh and he said to Voldemort I want to say something. Voldemort was not to pleased at this but let him talk. After the speech Voldemort hits him with a spell.
16. After harry defeats Voldemort- is there any sort of shouts of joy and relief, any sort of celebration voldemort is dead? or everyone just knows?
Everyone just knows. It was just him and Voldemort in the court yard. When Harry goes into the Great Hall people are just glad it is over. More of a sign of relief.
17. i know harry breaks in half the elder wand but… does it look like he fixed his own wand, at all?
No, looks like he still has Draco’s wand.
18. do we see Draco malfoy and Astoria in the epilogue?
A little. Harry walks onto the busy platform with his son and notices Draco and looks at him and Draco just kind of nods while Astoria picks up their son. They are all dressed in suits and dresses.
19. does anyone other than harry talks in the epilogue?
Yeah not much though. The epilogue was short. Ron, Harry, Ginny, and Hermione talk.

Do you think this is legit?
Can anyone give any information on the final duel between Harry and Voldemort? Any details? Thank you very much.
Can someone please tell me if the scene with Mcgonagall and the carrows in the ravenclaw tower happens? Where he spits in her face and Harry says, “you shouldn’t have done that”
@ phoenixweasley: I loved reading this webpage. Thanks a ton.
These quotes were posted on Tumblr. I saw them on July 4, 2011.
“I saw the screening in London yesterday. I won’t go in specifics of trying to explain angles and shots of it because you need to see the whole thing yourself, the way it happens, the build up. I was terrified they’d ruin the kiss; but I think it was beautiful. It managed to capture 7 years of longing, the intensity of being in the middle of a war and still feel like our awkwardly wonderful Ron and Hermione.”
“And even if you hate the kiss, there is a Ron line in The Room of Requirement that will appease any Ron/Hermione shipper.”
–aninsufferableknowitall on Tumblr
Sidney, I think that scene has been cut. We will find out next week.
Thanks, Priya. I’m glad you have enjoyed this post.
Batu, You can see behind-the-scenes footage of the duel here with MANY other spoilers. https://phoenixweasley.wordpress.com/2011/07/06/major-spoiler-alert-new-harry-potter-and-the-deathly-hallows-part-2-behind-the-scenes-footage/
I found out what this meant today:
“And even if you hate the kiss, there is a Ron line in The Room of Requirement that will appease any Ron/Hermione shipper.”
At the London press conference today, the cast was asked what their favorite line was from all of the films.
Emma Watson: I’m going to bed before either of you come up with another idea to get us killed or worse expelled. .
Rupert Grint: She needs to sort out her priorities. I say bloody a lot.
Yates: How about, “That’s my girlfriend you numb tease” (in part 2) .
Apparently, Ron says that Hermione is his girlfriend in that scene! 😀
We now have a video of the press conference. For clarification of the last spoiler:
“Just after Draco blasts Emma in the last film and you [Rupert] shout, you’re chasing Draco, ‘That’s my girlfriend, you numpty!’” (David Yates’ favorite line, the DH2 press conference )
That makes way more sense than “numb tease” which is how it was transcribed by Mugglenet this morning.
Ron does indeed call Hermione his girlfriend! 😀 😀 😀
A description of the R/Hr kiss from COS Forums:
– You do not see their lips during the entire kiss, only for a brief moment when the lips meets.
– The camera is static and does not move closer (zooming in).
– It’s a full body shot (you’ll see most of their bodies)
– The kiss does look like the ron/lavander kiss with the difference that it is Ron holding his arms around Hermione. You only see Hermiones left hand touching Rons chin/cheek area.
– Rons head does block the kiss (you’ll see the back of his head)
– The kiss lasts for 5-7 seconds.
– They do giggle for 2-3 seconds afterwards.
– Ron stands to the left in screen and Hermione to the right.
– The kiss does look passionate between the two of them.
– It does not look like the Harry/Ginny kiss.

These R/Hr spoilers were posted at FanForum by jaimeem:
Okay so people in the cinema cheered and clapped when R/Hr kissed and it was the first time in the movie they’d cheered at anything.
The kiss, they really did kind of just leap at each other. They got into the chamber of secrets and Ron broke off the basilisk fang and gave it to Hermione telling her to stab the Horcrux. She told him she couldnt and he told her “yes you can” (it was so good how he said it to her, like she didnt have faith in herself but he did.) So she stabs it and the water surrounding them turns into a kind of tsunami, so they start backing away from it, but then they stop cause its behind them too and so it drenches them, and then the second its off them they just turn to each other and just kiss . And it was longer than I had expected, it was such a good kiss, better than any of the others in any of the movies. It was just so good to FINALLY see them kiss after all this time. I’m probably biased though cause I love R/hr but everyone else in the cinema cheered so they thought it was good too.
Spoiler:
The scene where their running from Nagini is so good too. Hermione starts off trying to stop him from getting to Harry, and then Ron turns up and Nagini turns to attack them both so they start running backwards from it until they can’t go any further and they fall backwards and its the scene that we saw in a promo where Ron’s got his arms around Hermione and both their eyes are closed and its so much better seeing the full scene off it. And so their just kinda laying their thinking their gunna die and Neville comes up and kills Nagini and so everybody cheered then again.
Spoiler:
When their trying to get Ravenclaws diadem is when Draco throws a curse at Hermione, and Ron takes off after him screaming ‘that’s my girlfriend, you numpties’ and Hermione just smiles and has this proud look on her face. Then a few minutes later you hear Ron screaming and he runs back and the fires coming behind him so he just grabs Hermione and runs, which was so hilarious cause they both just left Harry. So i love that scene for the line and that he grabs her and runs
Spoiler:
Before Harry goes to the forest he finds Hermione and Ron huddled on the stairs together, and its so good because its just them two while everyon else is in the Great Hall, and their just sitting there holding each other and I love it.
Spoiler:
And after the battle Harry walks through the Great Hall just looking at everyone and he gets to the doors at the end and Hermione and Ron walk in together holding hands, and Harry looks down at their hands and just smiles at them, and it was so cute to see them finally together and just not caring who knows it.
Spoiler:
And finally the epilogue. I’m so glad they reshot that because they looked sooo much better. They looked like they were in their late 30’s like their supposed to instead of their late 50’s like they had the first time. They didnt have Ron saying if your not in gryffindor we’ll disown you or the part about the muggle driving test but it wwas still really good. You got to see them as a family with their adorable red headed children, thefour of them looked like such a cute happy family.
This is a list of spoilers from Tumblr: http://mmmione.tumblr.com/post/7555829319/deathly-hallows-part-2-thoughts-spoilers. (Note: If you have questions, I have NOT seen the movie yet.) Here’s mmmione’s post:
I’m serious about the spoiler warning you guys!
First of all, let me say this movie is PERFECT in every way imaginable!
Neville and McGonnagal are BAMF.
THE kiss… PERFECT! I didn’t count how long it lasted (I didn’t really think about anything else than OMG THEY’RE KISSING!) It’s COMPLETLY Ron/Hermione, and when they pull back and smile and laugh it’s just ;ALKDJF;ALKDFJA;LDKFJ And afterwards they’re just so cute holding hands and smiling. Towards the end, they walk into the Great Hall, hand in hand, and Hermione looks down at their hands, smiles and turns to look at Harry, smiling. Who in return is also smiling and that’s the moment when it’s just like “IT’S OKAY BETWEEN US THREE, RON AND HERMIONE ARE TOGETHER NOW, AND WE’RE OKAY” and it’s perfect.
NEVILLE DURING THE BATTLE SCREAMING IF ANYONE HAD SEEN LUNA CAUSE HE LIKES HER AND HE HAS TO TELL HER THAT. Seriously the entire theater errupted in screams and applause and whoops.
NEVILLE KILLING NAGINI AT THE MOMENT SHE STRIKING FOR RON AND HERMIONE WHO ARE HOLDING ONTO EACH OTHER FOR DEAR LIFE!
NEVILLE BLOWING UP THE BRIDGE AFTER TAUNTING THE DEATH EATERS WHO COME RUNNING AFTER HIM THE MOMENT THE PROTECTIVE ENCHANTMENTS BREAK.
Snape’s Death scene IS NOT RUINED PEOPLE! it’s basicly the shrieking shack scene but in the boat house, EVERYTHING BASICLY HAPPENS THE WAY IT DID IN THE SHRIEKING SHACK. down to “look at me” and he then also says “you have your mothers eyes” Snape’s death was my first big cry. I was litterally bawling and my friend who sat one seat over from me had to reach over and hold my arm I WAS SO FAR GONE. I was just pleading to Voldemort saying ‘NO NO NO DRACO’S IS THE MASTER OF THE ELDER WAND, NOT SNAPE! PLEASE, IT’S DRACO!!”
RON AND HARRY ARE BOTH SHIRTLESS AFTER THEY JUMP FROM THE DRAGON AND CLIMB ASHORE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS!
The Prince’s tale… I know this is basicly all of tumblr’s favourite chapter… OHMYGOD PERFECTION. I swear. It also adds a few things and shows snape going into james and lily’s house after Voldemort has killed them and holding onto lily’s dead body, weeping. SNAPE = PERFECT. ALL THE AWARDS FOR ALAN RICKMAN!
ONLY THING I didn’t quite like/was confused about was Fred’s death scene. It was shown in this kind of montage where Voldemort goes “you have allowed to let your friends die for you” and you see him against a wall kind of shrinking away to a spell but it’s not very clear if he’s dead or not. The only true moment you know he’s dead is when he’s lying in the Great Hall among all the other bodies.
Lavender DOES die. They show Greyback over her, Hermione screaming “NO” and he looks up with his entire face covered in blood. She then hexes him. You later see Trelawny and Parvati in the Great Hall and Trelawny says “she has moved on”
The R/Hr moments in the film (posted by Hunter at the Rupert and Emma Forums):
– Griphook tells a polyjuiced Hermione/Bellatrix off for not being enough in character and Ron tells him to watch it.
– Right before the trio splits up Ron tells Harry that they have a plan to destroy another horcrux (aka the CoS), Hermione corrects him and says it was all his idea and that he’s brilliant
– CoS scene basically the clip they’ve released and then the kiss happens
– They’re in a hallway, seeing Harry dissappear from the maurander’s map. Ron figures out he’s probably in the RoR mentioning that Hermione told him that previous year. Hermione is obviously taken back and charmed that Ron actually listens to her (hahah) and then comments again with a ‘brilliant’
– They arrive in the RoR, Hermione disarms Malfoy and Goyle throws a f***ing AK curse at Hermione (which she manages to escape). Ron charges after them (omg he actually like cries out this kind of batte cry) “AAARRGGGGHHHH THAT’S MY GIRFRIEND YOU NUMPTIES!”, Hermione gets this really cute smile on her face, rest of the RoR that we’ve already seen.
– Not really a RHr moment but worth mentioning, it’s because of Ron’s encouragment (the “we can end this” line happens here) that Harry goes into Voldemort’s mind to discover that nagini is a horcrux and that she’s at the boathouse
– When Harry is on his way to sacrifice himself he comes across RHr sitting on the stairs together, holding each other’s hands
– Post battle, they walk in hand in hand, Harry has the cutes smile (I might cap it in a bit) on his face.
– The epilogue
